Close to the Pyrenees, between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, not far from numerous lakes and moutains, Toulouse is a privileged location for sport: skiing, sailing, or just walking. The " Ville Rose ", the nearby bastides, both offer original and inviting architecture.

As the second largest student center in France, the city enjoys a reputation for its dynamism and cultural activities such as theater, bel canto, several independent film venues, and galleries where young directors and artists can present their work.

All important cultural exhibits come to Toulouse which has created internationally known shows such as the SITEF (International Future Technology & Energy Show). It is also the capital of the Aerospatial Industry and future technology such as electricity and electronics, computer science, automation, materials, fluid mechanics and structures.

Toulouse boasts 120,000 students (15% of the population) divided principally among four universities and 10 " Grandes Ecoles " (National Superior Institutes) with 7,000 researchers in 250 laboratories It is a well-known technopole, a veritable center of brainpower which is developing the technology of tomorrow in its universities and the most modern industries found there: EADS, Alcatel Espace, CNES, Matra, Motorola, Rockwell France, Siemens, Storagetek, Thomson, etc. – Caravelle, Concorde, Airbus, Ariane, and Spot were all conceived and created in Toulouse.
